A traveller’s bucket list: 20 most ‘pinned’ places of all time

Looking for a little travel inspiration? Pinterest has a few suggestions.
The website recently released its list of 20 most pinned places of all time, which takes readers through almost every continent.
Well-known tourist spots such as New York City and Positano, Italy made the list, along with more unfamiliar destinations including Lake Todos los Santos in southern Chile and Somoto Canyon in Nicaragua.
“A lot of people use Pinterest for huge bucket list items,” Canadian travel blogger Cailin O’Neil told CTVNews.ca. She said some of the destinations aren’t necessarily places that draw plenty of tourists, but they’re simply beautiful spots.
“When pinning, I put up photos that are eye-catching, beautiful and colourful, and that really showcase a place,” she said during a phone interview from Prague. “I think people are really looking for places that will blow them away.”

O’Neil said a number of destinations on the list surprised her, as they’re not very well-known.

“Lake Todos los Santos in Chile, most people can’t even put Chile on a map,” she said. “Nicaragua is becoming a pretty popular place, but I don’t think it’s nearly as popular as I’d say Costa Rica is.”

O’Neil said she was happy to see Reykjavik, Iceland, which she says has a “fairy tale feel” and Cape Town, South Africa make the top 20.
