Blade Runner 2049 trailer: Gosling & Ford’s sequel looks absolutely stunning

The first trailer for Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to the cult classic 1982 science-fiction film by Ridley Scott, is finally here – and it looks stunning.

Starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, who played Rick Deckard in the original, Blade Runner 2049 takes place 30 years after the first film. Gosling stars as LAPD detective K, who after discovering a long-buried secret that could send society into chaos, must locate Deckard, who has been missing for 30 years.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, who recently helmed Arrival, and a host of other terrific films, the sequel seems to fit in line with the noir tone of the original. And Roger Deakins’ glorious visuals of a futuristic Los Angeles help build the already iconic universe of Blade Runner.

The film also stars Jared Leto, Dave Bautista and Robin Wright. It’s scheduled for an October 6 release.
