Broken Horses: Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Hollywood debut looks grand

Vidhu Vinod Chopra doesn’t believe in half measures, and his maiden Hollywood venture, Broken Horses, looks no different. And that he roped in two of Bollywood’s biggest names, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, to unveil the first trailer of the film on Tuesday, should be a indication that everything about this film promises to be big.

Broken Horses features Thomas Jane, Vincent D’Onofrio and Anton Yelchin in lead roles. The trailer promises the film to be a typical Mexican-style mafia-war. The movie traces the lives and relationship of two brothers: One of them a violinist, and the other a hired mercenary. Set against the drug mafia near the American-Mexican border, the movie is slated to hit theatres on April 10.

Speaking at the trailer launch, Aamir Khan said, “It is amazing that big directors like James Cameron are praising Broken Horses.” He added that he is ready to work in a foreign movie if the the script is exciting.
Praising Broken Horses, filmmaker James Cameron had said, “Broken Horses is an artistic triumph. It’s a beautifully written, acted, imaged and the film just wraps slowly around you like a king snake and squeezes.”

Broken Horses is the first Hollywood film which is written, directed & produced by an Indian. “BrokenHorses is an attempt to make a movie of the level of Hollywood. It is not just a film. It’s a dream that came true,” Vidhu Vinod Chopra said.
