From Selling Newspapers To Graduating From IIT, This Girl’s Story Is Truly Inspirational!

The Indian Institutes of Technology. A dream for most, a reality for only a select few. These prestigious engineering institutes in India incubate and nurture some of the smartest minds in the country. Students undergo years of intense training in order to be among those that crack the IIT entrance exam, believed to be one of the most competitive examinations in the world.

Shivangi, who used to be a humble newspaper seller from the small town of Deha in Uttar Pradesh, persevered against all odds and emerged victorious, gaining admission into the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee.

It was her dream to get into IIT but was unable to afford any of the expensive coaching classes. However, she approached Anand Kumar, the founder of Super 30, who took her under his wing and ensured her successful selection

Super 30 is an education initiative which trains 30 meritorious students from backwards sections of society to appear for the IIT competitive entrance examination.

The girl was treated as a part of Anand Kumar’s family during her training. After her selection, the entire family had tears in their eyes as it was time for her to leave.

“SHE HAD TEARS IN HER EYES AND ALL THE WOMEN IN MY FAMILY WERE ALSO CRYING. IT FELT AS IF WE WERE GIVING AWAY OUR DAUGHTER TO SOMEONE ELSE.”

Shivangi’s father was extremely proud of his daughter and delivered a very emotional message after her selection.

“PEOPLE HAVE DREAMS AND SOMETIMES THESE DREAMS BECOME REALITY BUT HE NEVER HAD SUCH A BIG DREAM.”

Shivangi’s story just goes to show that no dream is too large if you are willing to dedicate your life to pursuing it. Hard work always pays off in the end!

Congratulations, Shivangi!
