Gilmore Girls trailer: Here’s what Lorelai and Rory are up to, nine years later

Gilmore Girls is going to be on Netflix this festive season and with it comes back with the existential romantic angst and snappy camaraderie between the main characters that made the show so famous. The trailer finally has let us in on some of the key plot points of the upcoming four part reboot set in the sleepy town of Stars Hollow:

Lorelai is living with Luke, but she thinks the spark between them has faded after a decade of living together.

The straitlaced Rory is travelling around the world from London to New York and back to her roots searching for her identity. However, at one point she mentions that she has no job. Does that mean she gets fired or was she just travelling for the fun of it and not for work?

The snooty grandmother, Emily, has lost her husband Richard after 50 years of being married and she is now re-examining who she is as a person by throwing out half of her possessions.
Dean, Jess and Logan all make appearances, with no indication as to who — if anyone — wins over in the end. We see Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) sitting with Rory in some kind of office (offering moral support). “I have no job, I have no credit, I have no underwear,” Rory tells him.

There’s also Dean (Jared Padalecki), glancing knowingly over his shoulder on his way out of Doose’s Market. And finally Logan (Matt Czuchry), who’s seen sitting on a sofa, grinning, with an iPad in hand.

Melissa McCarthy is back as Sookie and pornographically shooting icing all over the bakery.

Also back is the fun pop-culture banter between the mother and daughter: They cover all the current pop news references from Tori Spelling to Batman.

The four-part reboot will premiere 25 November 2016.
