Kamal plays the lead role of a RAW agent in the film. The film, which has been delayed over multiple reasons for the past few years, is a sequel to the 2013 film Vishwaroopam.

‘Vishwaroopam 2’ takes the story forward from where the first part ended. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, the film stars Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Shekhar Kapur, Rahul Bose, Jaideep Ahlawat and Waheeda Rehman in prominent roles. Directed by Kamal Haasan.

The sequel will have music by Mohammad Ghibran, who is working with Kamal Haasan for the fourth time. ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ will simultaneously release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages on August 10 this year.
