Lady Gaga’s new song “Till It Happens To You” featured in the documentary movie ‘The Hunting Ground’ dissects the culture of rape and sexual assault prevalent in colleges in US.
The song splits open the reality of “what is happening on regular basis in college campuses”.
Laced with a series of sexual assault scenes, the music video written by Diana Warren, aptly starts with a disclaimer beforehand as the scenes in the video are actually “emotionally upsetting”.
But this is not all, through the song; Lady Gaga has shown solidarity towards those who’ve been victims of sexual assaults on campus premises.
The video attempts to end on a positive note with the victims rallying with support from friends and family.
While releasing the song, Gaga had tweeted, “We hope u feel our love&solidarity through the song & perhaps find some peace in knowing u r not alone through this film #TilItHappensToYou (sic)”
