Watch: Nimrat Kaur’s 7-minute film begins with a tiff, ends with a shock

Nimrat Kaur and Tahir Raj Bhasin’s short film The Road Trip begins like any couple’s tiff. “You forced us to come on this trip. I said we should not go,” she says. “It is always my fault,” he shoots back.
It soon escalates with ‘trust issues’ coming in: “Why is Priya’s calling you again and again… she can call me too,” she has a question. Yes Priya had a crush on the husband. It is all in the past. “But you could have told me about it,” is the wife’s answer.

He then brings in her cousin, the one he cannot stand. And is forced to accept that he has been reading the wife’s text messages.
You would say another day, another couple. And then suddenly the seven-minute short film gives you a shove in the solar plexus. Nimrat and Tahir are stuck on the highway, their car having met with an accident. But you don’t see the twist drive in.

Talking about the film, Tahir said, “It’s a normal love story, which has shades of dark humour. Ankit has shot it brilliantly. It was a conscious effort to show the tiff between the couple in a mature way.”

Talking about his co-star in the Yash Raj Film’s Road Trip, the Mardaani actor says, “Nimrat is outstanding. We never met before but we shared an instant connect and that helped us to give our best short. I am lucky to work with her.”

Love Shots is a series of six short films based on love and features actors like Saqib Saleem, Farida Jalal, Swanand Kirkire and Kulbhushan Kharbanda among others. Nimrat and Taahir’s film was the first one to come out on YouTube.
