Bus fire in southern India leaves 40 dead

At least 40 people have died after the luxury bus they were travelling in caught fire in India’s southern state of Andhra Pradesh, police said. At least 13 people have been killed after a powerful typhoon passed close to the Japanese capital, reports say. Typhoon Wipha caused landslides and flooding on Izu Oshima island, south of Tokyo, with several houses destroyed. The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the body overseeing the destruction of Syria’s chemical arsenal, has won the Nobel Peace Prize.
