The first Valerian trailer is here: So much CGI, it puts Avatar to shame

The first teaser trailer for the big budget adaptation of the French cult sci-fi graphic novel series Valerian is here.

Slated for a July 2017 release, Luc Besson’s latest directorial outing, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, promises a visual spectacle.

The story focuses on time-traveling government agents Valerian and Laureline (played by Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne, respectively) attempting to bring peace to a fractured galaxy and trying to complete their mission without their personal feelings compromising operations.

Adapted by Besson from the graphic novels by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières, the film’s cast also boasts Ethan Hawke, John Goodman, Clive Owen, Rutger Hauer and R&B star Rihanna.
