The Vault trailer: James Franco-starrer goes from bank heist flick to horror thriller

James Franco-starrer The Vault’s trailer is out. Honestly, when it starts, it appears to be one among Hollywood hackneyed 1990s bank-heist movies where goons barge into a bank in masks and with guns. There are people who are terrified and bewildered at the same point. Then there is a ‘moustached’ bank chief who, at gun-point, is asked to open the vault. There are policemen outside the bank, all set; but […]

This is one of the several monuments in this area, an essential part of this historical market of Lahore – Anarkali Bazaar. A vendor looks at me suspiciously as I photograph […]

Does Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk ignore the role of the Indian army?

Christopher Nolan’s epic World War Two film, Dunkirk, which tells the story of the mass evacuation of Allied troops from the northern coast of France in 1940, has been getting glowing reviews in India. But many are glowering over Nolan turning a blind eye to the role of Indian soldiers in the battle. The Times of India wrote that their “significant contribution” was missing from Nolan’s “otherwise brilliant” work. Writing […]
