Iron deficiency or anemia is a very common blood disorder. It is a condition where the RBC counts fall from their normal levels. Common symptoms include weakness, dizziness and quick exhaustion. According to a study conducted by WHO, nearly 1.62 billion people affected by anemia are women and young children.
Women especially are more likely to suffer from the condition. According to experts, the major cause of anemia in women is that we live in a society, where if the food available is less in amount, it is first served to the bread earner of the family and others and in the end to the women members of the family.
So, in order to fight the condition, a healthy diet is a prerequisite for any anaemic patient. Here is what you should eat:
-Spinach: It is an excellent source of antioxidants, vitamins and dietary fibres which help fight anaemia.
-Beetroot juice: Drinking a glass of beetroot juice daily can help you combat the situation as it is rich source of folic acid as well as fiber and potassium.
-Eggs: Undoubtedly, eggs are the best source of protein. The egg white is a rich source of riboflavin or Vitamin B2 which is vital for for normal cell functioning, growth and energy production.
-Pomegranate: This is one fruit which is highly recommended for those who are anaemic as it helps stimulate blood production.
-Fatty fish: Believe it or not but eating at least one portion of oily fish such as salmon, trout and mackerel once a week can help cure anemia
