The prestigious National Film Awards were announced on Monday with honours going to veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut in best actor category.
S S Rajamouli’s multi lingual blockbuster ‘Baahubali’ has won the Best Film award.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has grabbed the Best Director for Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone,
Amitabh Bachchan has been awarded the Best Actor for Piku and Best Actress award has been given to the queen of Bollywood – Kangana Ranaut for her wonderful performance in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. It’s the third national award for Kangana Ranaut, she won National Award for her magnificent performance in Queen in 2015 and the Best Supporting Award for Fashion in 2009.
This will be 73-year-old Mr Bachchan’s fourth win after Agneepath, Black and Paa.
