Five years after the release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, we finally have the trailer to it’s sequel, Alice Through The Looking Glass. Based on Lewis Caroll’s much loved books but with a far darker tone, the film will have Mia Wasikowska reprising her role as Alice and Johnny Depp will be back as the eccentric Mad Hatter.
The trailer begins with an ominous tone of a ticking clock where a looming voice tells Alice that since she left all the creatures of Wonderland behind, they haven’t been alright. ‘Friends should not be neglected’, says the voice while we see the Mad Hatter looking at a burning village, possibly his own and Alice tries to walk into a mirror to cross over to an unknown place.
Like in the first part, where she spirals down the rabbit hole, here she falls from the sky into the Wonderland. This time, she needs to save the Mad Hatter from the claws of peril and her adversary is nothing but time itself.
Sasha Baron Cohen plays the villain in this movie whom Alice must beat to save the Hatter. The film is directed by James Bobin while Tim Burton is the producer. It will release on May 27, 2016.
