The first trailer of Akshay Kumar-starrer PadMan is finally out and it looks spectacular. Directed by R Balki, the film aims at starting a discussion on women mensuration hygiene, a topic still considered taboo in many parts of the country.
Based on the true story of Arunachalam Muruganantham -the man who invented low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas, this film is directed by R. Balki.
But the highlight of the trailer is megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s voiceover, that introduces India’s first-ever superhero PadMan. Sonam Kapoor in the role of a teacher named Rhea is a saviour for Lakshmikanth.
The film is jointly produced by Kumar’s Grazing Goat Pictures, Twinkle Khanna’s Mrs Funnybones Films and Balki, Gauri Shinde’s Hope Productions. Padman is slated for a 26 January release.
