Tokyo : Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has come out publicly today and decried the situation in Fukushima as the birth of a newborn baby boy with a third eye has fueled a wave of public unrest denouncing the Japanese government and its handling of the situation, reports the Tokyo Daily this morning.
The birth of the baby suffering from a pineal gland malformation due to acute radiation syndrome (ARS), or radioactive poisoning, such as recorded previously at the Tchernobyl disaster, has developed the formation of a poorly developed third eye.
Newborn Akira Kurotawa’s mother was working at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant at the time of the disaster and is thought to have fallen victim to radiation exposure before she fell pregnant six weeks later. Doctors had told her that since the poisoning had occurred months before, the child would not suffer from any health issues
The birth of the child with such a malformation has unleashed massive public outcry and criticism from media outlets nation wide and forced the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, to make an official statement about the situation in Fukushima, something officials have been extremely secretive about until now, affirm critics.
“The way our country has handled this tragedy is shameful to say the least. More than a simple denial of reality and of the threat to the world’s ecological system and human health worldwide, we have deceived ourselves in believing nothing here has happened when it is probably the worst tragedy to hit us since Hiroshima and Nagasaki 69 years ago” he admitted in tears on a nation wide television broadcast.
The Japanese Prime Minister has also estimated that the country could not solve this issue by itself and asks for an international committee sponsored by the United Nations to handle radioactive disasters of such sort because of their “threat to the balance of our planet’s ecosystem and for the survival of the human species”.
Since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster has occurred in march of 2011 radiation levels have spiked worldwide has divulged Greenpeace in a 2014 study.
