Bollywood is now waking up to the idea of spin-offs and prequels and Naam Shabana can be a very important film in this regard. Directed by Shivam Nair, Naam Shabana is going to track the life of Shabana (Taapsee Pannu), Akshay Kumar’s mostly silent but obedient junior officer in Baby.
It’s about her training and backstory before she was used as honey-trap in Nepal against international criminal Wasim Khan (Sushant Singh). The 2-minute trailer looks sleek and says that she has been trained by the best for extremely dangerous covert operations.
We also get to see Danny Denzongpa and Manoj Bajpayee as her seniors who talk about her past life and how she can contribute for Indian secret services. In fact, Akshay Kumar also makes an appearance in the trailer which seems like a deleted scene from Baby.
Taapsee Pannu, who had an image changing film in last year’s Pink, is all set to impress us with her combat skills and terrific presence of mind as a secret agent.
Naam Shabana will hit the screens on March 31, 2017.
