The Mi 6X (Mi A2) has gone official in China as it was expected. Mi 6X was launched in Wuhan by Xiaomi, and is the new phone in its mid-range Mi series.
As expected from a Xiaomi smartphone, it comes with the latest processor coupled with top-of-the-line specifications. Mi 6X is also the company’s first phone to extensively focus on Artificial Intelligence. The smartphone comes with a bunch of AI-based features, mostly integrated in the camera.
Talking about the camera, Xiaomi Mi 6X has two cameras on the back featuring 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors, and a 20-megapixel camera on the front. The smartphone is available in China in three variants – CNY 1599 (4GB+64GB), CNY 1799 (6GB+64GB), CNY 1999 (6GB+128GB).
Xiaomi Mi 6X: Specifications and features
Mi 6X will have a 5.99-inches display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution (1080p). This is similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The processor is Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, which is an octa-core one clocked at 2.2Ghz. The smartphone comes with LPDDR4X RAM with 4GB and 6GB variants. The storage options are 64GB and 128GB and there is microSD card support as well, though Xiaomi has not yet specified this.
In the photography department, Mi 6X sports a dual-camera setup at the rear which is a combination of 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel Sony IMX486 and IMX376 sensors. For selfies, there’s a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor. The smartphone’s cameras are AI-powered with features like smart image recognition and smart scene detection.
Xiaomi Mi 6X also comes with ‘Face Unlock’. The Mi 6X is backed by a 3,010mAh battery, and charges over USB Type-C with support for fast charging (Quick Charge 3.0) packed in.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Mi 6X will start at 1,599 RMB (roughly Rs 16,904) for the base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version, while the top-end version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will cost buyers 1,999 RMB (roughly Rs 21,138). The Mi 6X will also be available in 6GB RAM and 64GB storage option for 1,799 RMB (roughly Rs 19,023).
