Dudley Zoo’s snow leopard cub shown to public

There’s much excitement in the snow leopard enclosure as the first cub to be born at DZG in 12 years is set to make its public debut.

The youngster, who was born on May 2, has been cosying up to mum, four-year-old Nanga in the internal den since birth, but this week has been peeking into the glass viewing area much to the delight of visitors.

Assistant Curator, Richard Brown, said staff were delighted with the cub’s progress.

He said: “Nanga is a fist time mum and has been coping brilliantly. We don’t know the baby’s sex as yet, but it’s a lively little thing and very playful.”

Dad is three-year-old Margaash.

HUGE thanks to DZG supporter, Steve Weaver, for these fabulous images!
