Molly’s Game trailer: Jessica Chastain delivers yet another award-worthy performance

Jessica Chastain’s performance in 2013’s Zero Dark Thirty earned her a very well-deserved Golden Globe award. Over the past few years, Chastain had earned the reputation of being a method actor who extensively prepares for each of her performances, leading to some pretty scintillating screen appearances in The Help (2012), Interstellar (2014) or the more recent The Martian (2015)?

The trailer for Chastain’s latest film, Molly’s Game, is out and the actress ‘owns it’ in every frame.

Chastain plays a grey character, and the focus doesn’t shift from her even once during the 2.56 minute long trailer.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Molly’s Game is the true story of Molly Bloom (played by Chastain), an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer Charlie Jaffey (played by Idris Elba), who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe,” reports Forbes.

Directed by Aaron Sorkin, Molly’s Game also stars Michael Cera, Kevin Costner and Chris O’Dowd. Sorkin will debut as a director with this film. He has also written the screenplay of the film based on Molly Bloom’s memoir of the same name. Molly’s Game is slated to release on 22 November.
