The Cold War set spy movie features Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill as spies from the KGB and CIA respectively who must combine forces against a common enemy (a terrorist organisation with an atom bomb). The key to the puzzle: Alicia Vikander’s femme-fatale.
Ritchie’s trademark kinetic style, colourful characters, larger-than-life locations and over-the-top action are on full display as the titular men embark on a globe-trotting adventure filled with gun fights, car/boat chases, double crossing broads and Hugh Grant.
Not unlike his Sherlock Holmes series which for some reason feels abandoned at the moment (Ritchie is currently shooting his hopeful franchise starter King Arthur movie), The Man from U.N.C.L.E. looks like good fun, a solid original film from a cult-favourite director.
The movie stars Armie Hammer, Henry Cavill, Elizabeth Debicki, Alicia Vikander and Hugh Grant. It is written by Guy Ritchie and Lionel Wigram and will arrive in cinemas on 14 August 2015.
